Sharpsburg's Second
Arbor Day Celebration

Daisy Girl Scout Troop #536 were participants in Sharpsburg's Second Arbor Day Celebraton with their Leaders, Erin Govednik and Shawna Anaya.  Polly Garlington, Town Council Member, opened the program by welcoming  the group and thanking the Girl Scouts for choosing Sharpsburg to plant their tree.  Councilmember Garlington also added that she hoped the Scouts would make this an annual event for their troop.

Their leader introduced the scouts with additional  remarks.  The Girl Scouts lead the Pledge of Alliegence and recited an appropriate poem for the occasion.  This was followed by the Arbor Day Ordinance and planting three trees.  The Girl Scouts and attendees were given seedling to plant at home furnished by Georgia Forestry Commission.
