GA Voters Guide

"The Sharpsburg Merchants Association wholeheartedly endorses Polly Garlington for the mayor of Sharpsburg."

I want to be your Mayor!
I lost by 2 votes.....

There are many reasons that I want to go to work for the residents and businesses of Sharpsburg.

  Issues needing attention:

· Closer oversight of expendatures

To insure NO Local tax increase

· Closer oversight of ALL Town business... Especially following up with resident & merchant  issues & problems.

· Initiate  communication with residents and merchants

Other

· Initiate conservation effort:

       recycling, water conservation,

       clean air, etc.

· Initiate a municipal group to create a vision for the Town consisting of residents, merchants, property owners, and town officials ...and then  implement a plan.

The much promoted Streetscapes has been fininished for a year...and a lot of money invested!!!

It is time now to add perennials (in season), seasonal plantings, baskets or flower pots,  and seating  of some kind.  If the downtown area is important enough to be our town seal, it is important enough to make an inviting, friendly place to visit.

· Look for additional services for

      residents...what would you like?

To reactivate the Tree Commission that I initiated two years ago.

To lure the Sharpsburg Garden Club back to town.  They were a true treasure to the Town before they moved away.

To initiate a "Ribbon Cutting Ceremony" for new businesses locating in Town.
