Passage of this Ordinance will replace the older Ordinance.
Second reading July Town Council Meeting
Threre was a vote on this at the July Meeting.
 
 
An amendment to the Environmental Contol Ordinance was just adopted.  The purpose to to allow burning debris during designated times of the year and day.  The second reading and adoption was at the May meeting.  The vote was unanimous.  The dates will be the same as the county dates. 
 
Under discussion with the Town Council is an ordinance pertaining to "liqour  by the drink."   The most recent discussion was on April 13th in a work session with the Mayor, Council Members, the Town Attorney, and the Town Clerk attending.  Writing of the ordinance in in progress.

 Below Ordinances "in the works" or clarification of "no need" for an amendment to an existing Ordinance....the list may get longer.
 
 
1.  The  Mayor and Council are continuing the work begun by the previous Town Council on an ordinance to allow "golf-type" carts  on streets in the Old Town Sharpsburg area with speed limits not exceeding 35 MPH.  This would not include any vehicle using gasoline.
 
2.  It was decided that an amendment will not be needed to claify property rights pertaining to relationship of tenant/property owner concerning uses of rented property at special events.
 
3.  It was also suggest that work begin on an Ordinance specifying the procedure and Job Description for hiring a Town Clerk or other employees. Since there are no other "hired" positions, it was suggested that other infrequently used  positions be contracted out as in the past.
